If you've ever had GMSE Fire & Security carry out any work for you, it's likely you've met Dan, one of our seasoned engineers. With nearly two decades of experience in the Fire & Security industry, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and passion to every project he undertakes.

Dan's journey in the industry began back in July 2006 when he joined an NSI-approved firm based in Ashford. For the next 18 years, he dedicated his career to that company, gaining invaluable experience and honing his craft. His time there included a transformative three-year apprenticeship in Walthamstow, London, where he worked alongside a talented team of engineers. Starting as an apprentice, Dan quickly progressed to managing installations, leading teams on both residential and commercial projects. His hands-on experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of the industry, making him an expert in his field.

For Dan, working in the Fire & Security industry isn't just a job—it's a passion. He finds it immensely rewarding to ensure the safety and security of others, whether in commercial settings or private homes. With crime rates on the rise across the UK, Dan understands the critical importance of installing reliable intruder alarms and CCTV systems. His early career was focused on fire alarms, especially during his work with YMCAs across West London. Over the years, Dan has witnessed significant advancements in fire alarm technology, including enhanced functionality, better programming, and the advent of wireless fire systems. These innovations continue to fascinate him, keeping his passion for the industry alive.

Dan's expertise is backed by an impressive array of certifications. He holds a Level 3 NVQ City & Guilds qualification in Security, Emergency & Alarm Systems, awarded through Skills for Security. Additionally, he has completed training in Safe Isolation procedures for Single and Multi-phase Electrical Installations, and holds a Paxton Access Control Installer accreditation. His credentials also include various certifications from the Fire Industry Association (FIA), covering Fire Detection Design, Installation and Testing, and Fire Alarm Maintenance. These qualifications are a testament to his commitment to maintaining the highest standards in his work.

Since joining GMSE Fire & Security, Dan has found a new professional home where he feels truly valued. He appreciates the welcoming atmosphere and the wealth of experience that his fellow engineers bring to the table. The office staff, too, have played a significant role in easing his transition, offering support and professionalism that have made his integration seamless. What Dan enjoys most about working at GMSE is the constant activity—there's always a new challenge to tackle, keeping him engaged and motivated.

When he's not ensuring your safety, Dan enjoys an active lifestyle. He's a dedicated football fan and loves taking his family to matches. While he used to be an avid golfer, his latest passion is Padel Tennis, a sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Dan’s love for sports reflects his energetic and competitive nature, both on and off the job.

With Dan on the team, you can be confident that your fire and security needs are in expert hands. His dedication, experience, and passion make him an invaluable asset to GMSE Fire & Security, and a trusted partner in keeping you safe.
